How We Are Responding to COVID-19
Ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is at the heart of what we do every day. Throughout the pandemic, we have closely monitored the situation, adjusted protocols on our campus, and kept our staff, residents and families informed every step of the way. CCEC is following all federal and state infection and health guidelines to reduce the risk of illness to residents and staff.
Communication. Validation. Access. Acceptance.
Communication: the ability to effectively engage with others, whether for joy or need. Validation: the idea that our experiences and desires as individuals are important. Access: the demand that resources and information are made available to us all. Acceptance: regardless of age or unique ability, being accepted just as we are.
Life at Columbus Colony for Elderly Care (CCEC) centers around these core principles. Our family – residents, their loved ones, our diverse staff and their supportive families – uphold these principles to make life at CCEC a special place for special people.
Offering skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services, CCEC is a not-for-profit 150-bed healthcare community with dedicated staff who are recognized as leaders in their field.
With a special focus on caring for hearing and vision impaired older adults but open to all who need their services, CCEC offers a one-of-a-kind campus in welcoming Westerville, Ohio. Personalized communication is a central principle to our mission. Our diverse staff is trained in American Sign Language (ASL), and qualified professional interpreters are on-site, full time. CCEC is an inclusive community welcoming hearing and sighted persons and the deaf, deaf and blind, and hard of hearing.
